28-29/7/42 Hamburg. One 101 Aircaft lost. Wellington III X3668 collided with a Stirling bomber while gaing height after take-off. All five crew killed: Sgt P G Teall, Sgt E Webster, P/O R J Stubbings RNZAF, Sgt E Bridge, Sgt N S Comber.

31-1/7-8/42 Dusseldorf. One 101 Aircaft lost. Wellington III BJ841. Brought down over Germany, all five crew killed: WO1 A C Vautour RCAF, Sgt D D Northfield, Sgt A W Daniel, Sgt S B Ward (see photo), Sgt A R Daily RNZAF.

17-18/8/42 Osnabrook Two 101 Squadron aircraft lost:

Wellingon III X3654, SR-K. Believed to have been shot down by a German nightfighter. All six crew killed: P/O E H Brown see photo), Sgt E S Thomas, Sgt T McBride RCAF, Sgt W J Justice, F/S Methven, Sgt J Skipsey (see photo).

Wellington III BJ844. Ditched in the North Sea returning from raid. F/S C H Cobett RCAF died. The other four crew were rescued: Sgt C Foderingham RCAF, F/S W C Gordon RCAF, Sgt A W Stewart RCAF (possibly on photo), Sgt D N McFadyen RCAF.

24-25/8/42 Frankfurt. One 101 Sq aircraft lost: Wellington III Z1594. Shot down by a nightfighter. Two crew died: pilot F/Sgt C S Elkington RCAF and rear gunner Sgt J H Garland (see photo). Three others were made POWs: Sgt A E Keir, Sgt A E Young RCAF, Sgt L T Goat RCAF.

27-28/8/42 Kassel. Three 101 Squadron aircraft lost:

Wellington III X3649. Ditched in North Sea. Two crew died: F/S G T Brown (pilot) (see photo), Sgt A K Bonser. Three survived and rescued by a trawler: F/S G L Downer (see photo), Sgt G L Otter, Sgt F Hill.

Wellington III X3657. Crash landed and burned out on return at Martlesham Heath after being hit by flak and attacked by a nightfighter. All crew survived: Sgt J W Spinney, Sgt H W Collett, Sgt R Mayhew, Sgt G C McLennan, Sgt S H Moon.

Wellington III BJ698. Lost without trace. The crew were: P/O E Beale, Sgt J J Kincaid RCAF, Sgt D Rowles, Sgt F D Chudleigh, F/Sgt H E Roberts RCAF. Ft Lt G L Clack.

28/8/42 Nuremberg. Two 101 Squadron aircraft lost:

Wellington III X3391 SR-A. Crash-landed near Mannheim due to technical failures. One crewman evaded capture: Sgt H Colhoun (see photo). Five others taken POW: Flt Lt P J C Harper (pilot), Sgt J R Dixon, Flt Sgt A R Cook, Flt Sgt N A Skinner, P/O J J Mullineaux DFM. Flt Sgt Cook died as a POW on 19/6/43.

Wellington III X3754. Crashed near Liege, Belgium. P/O R A Ayres evaded and sheltered by a Belgian civilian but subsequently captured. The other four crew died: Flt Lt J D Follett RNAF, Sgt M Swann RNZAF, Sgt J Ramsey.

4-5/9/42 Bremen. One 101 Sq aircraft lost. Wellington III BJ891. Lost without trace. The five crew were: P/O N I Gill, P/O R W Harrison, Sgt G S Jennings RNAF, Sgt J N Tapp RCAF, Sgt J D Gill RCAF.

6-7/9/42 Duisburg. One 101 Sq aircraft lost. Wellington III BJ769. Lost without trace. The five crew were: Flt Sgt R Williams (pilot, see photo), Flt Sgt J B Lawrence RCAF, P/O C W Reaume RCAF, Sgt S McMenomy, Flt Sgt F E E Lyons RCAF.

16-17/9/42 Essen. One 101 Sq aircraft lost. Wellington III BJ897. Brought down over Germany. All five crew killed. They were: P/O C H Grant, Sgt A W Firth, P/O R H Hill, Sgt L W Stephenson RAAF, Sgt R K Griffith RCAF.

19-20/9/42 Saarbrucken. One 101 Sq aircraft lost. Wellington III BJ689. Crashed in France. All six crew killed: P/O E A F De Bartok DFC RCAF, Flt Sgt P F Brawley RCAF, Sgt C Drury, Sgt R A Haskins, Sgt J E Bailey, Sgt D L Dyhouse.

21-22/9/42 Mine-laying. Two 101 Sq aircraft lost. These were the final combat losses of the squadron prior to re-equipping with the Avro Lancaster.

Wellington III X3457. Lost without trace. The crew were: Flt Sgt J Rimmer, Sgt H M Hawkins, RAAF, Sgt J S Sagar, Sgt J E Rodgers RCAF (see photo), Flt Sgt W Shankland.

Wellington III X3815. Shot down by a nightfighter over Denmark. Three crew killed: Sq Ldr V R Patterson DFC, Flt Sgt
E J Rowe, P/O R E N Butcher RAAF. Two crew made POW: P/O C H Mitchell RCAF, Sgt G L Otter RNZAF.
