Three Thornley Bandsmen (and the Landlady) Outside the Rose Tree Tavern, Durham

This photograph of three Thornley bandsmen in playful mood was taken in the early Fifties outside the Rose Tree Tavern, Durham, possibly during the Durham Big Meeting. According to my father, the Landlady of the Rose Tree Tavern had always wanted her picture taken with a band instrument and hat and this was the result. Tom Tunney is on the right, almost off the picture and Lloyd Saunders of Wheatley Hill is to the left of him.
