19-20/5/42 Mannheim. WW’s 30th mission. One 101 Sq aircraft lost: Wellington III X3472 SR-D.. Crash-landed in France after port engine failure. Two crew POW: Sgt J P Love, Sgt A Crichton. Two evaders, Sgt J Beecroft (pilot), Sgt H P Hanwell. Sgt S Bradley died while evading capture.

1/6/42 Essen. WW’s 32nd mission. No 101 Sq aircraft lost. W Wigham's aircraft: 'Second 1,000 aircraft plan.'

This was the 32nd and last mission of William Wigham's first tour of duty.

101 Squadron operations with the Wellington continued until September 1942 when the unit was transferred to 3 Group of Bomber Command and the Lancaster replaced the Wellington. These are the squadron's further combat losses through to September 1942:. Many of the men featured on the group photograph, as noted below, were casualties on these raids

3-4/6/42 Bremen. One 101 Sq aircraft lost, Wellington III X34733, SR-S. Crashed near Bremen. Control lost during evasive action. Three crew died: F/L N J Edwards (pilot), Sgt F R Arthan (see photo), Sgt W G Cormack (see photo). Two crew POWs: P/O L A E Osbon, P/O K E S Muggleton.

19-20/6/42 Emden. One 101 Sq aircraft lost: Wellington III X3669. All five crew died, the aircraft is presumed to have crashed in the sea. Sgt F J Keen (see photo), P/O G E Sheppard, F/S N MacDougall, RCAF, Sgt J W Williams, Sgt W R Payne.

8-9/7/42 Wilhelmshaven. One 101 Sq aircraft lost: Wellington III X3634. Lost without trace. The crew were: P/O J R Tregea, Sgt H C Craig, Sgt A A Brace (see photo), Sgt C H Stewart (see photo), Sgt L J Symonds (see photo). Sgts Brace and Stewart were Canadians, P/O Tregea was from Argentina.

11-12/7/42 mine-laying. Two 101 Sq aircraft lost.

Wellington III Z1751. Lost without trace. The crew were: S/L F C G Freeman, P/O L R Goad, Sgt S H Hughes, Sgt H R H, De Laspee, P/O R M Lee.

Wellington III BJ583. All five crew killed. They were: P/O A A Angel, F/S G T Morris, RCAF, F/Sgt A J Gerein RCAF,
F/S P E J Howe RCAF, Sgt R M Wilkinson.

21-22/7/42 Duisburg. One 101 Sq aircraft lost. Wellington III X3312, SR U. Lost over the sea. All six crew killed: F/S E Fortin RCAF, F/S D P Roberts, RCAF, Sgt L D Firminger, Sgt W Matheson (see photo), Sgt G C Morffew, Sgt E A Thomas.
